MARA SUPPORT

Membership

The MARA membership is actually made up two member groups. The first group is a small group of "OPERATING
MEMBERS " that have installed the repeater systems and keep them operating. Most of the original amateur radio
operators that formed MARA over 30 years ago are still part of the "operating membership". These people are the
"behind the scenes" persons who keep this large repeater system operating. No one person can keep this
system operating, as it is too wide spread.

The second membership group is the MARA "SUPPORTING MEMBERS " that provide the ideas and inputs to the
"operating members" on what they want the MARA repeater systems to do and with their financial support allow
the "operating members" to keep the repeater system operating as it is now or to add new features. If extra
money is available, the new features that the supporting members would like to see can be added. Your donation
to the MARA makes you one of the "SUPPORTING MEMBERS" . We are always looking for new people to add to
the “Operating membership”. More technical persons and a Newsletter Editor are being looked for.

The operating membership and the supporting membership are held together by a " Board of Directors" made up
of the MARA President/Station Trustee, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Technical Advisor, Maintenance
Chief, Business Liaison and Membership Chairman and other members chosen by the board of directors from the
supporting members "at large". The Board of Directors elects the officers of the MARA.
This board meets at least once a year to guide the operations of the MARA.
